What You Should Know About Choosing The Right Pushchairs

Until you actually have to buy a pushchair you never really know what to expect. Gone are the days where you just had a choice 1 or 2 prams and maybe a selection of a few colours, usually dark blue or not so dark blue.
These days pushchairs can accommodate any type of requirement, our lives are much different from a few generations ago and the way we get our babies from A to B are many and varied. There are many models to choose from so you need to consider how you are going to use your new pushchair.
Your first consideration is how many babies are you going to need to accommodate, it may sound silly but if you have twins or two children close together chances are you are going to have to take them out at the same time. If so you are going to need a twin or double pushchair of which there are two type. You can have the wider model that has seats next to each other much like the set up in a car. The other option is to have a tandem which means one child will be positioned in front of the other, a bit like a single pushchair but with another seat in front of it.
There is a lot of debate about whether you should have your baby facing you when you are out walking of facing outwards so as they can see the world go by. It is entirely up to you if you decide to have a front or rear facing stroller. If you are not sure or would like the best of both worlds you can get a reversible seat pushchair so you can have your baby facing either way.
Deciding whether or not to have a buggy with 3 or 4 wheels is more of a style thing but wheels are important. You want to be able to get up kerbs and safely traverse over cracks and bumps in the pavement so larger tougher wheels will make this easier to do.
But what about taking your new pushchair out in all weathers, the UK climate can be pretty unpredictable and it may be sunny when you leave on your journey but be pouring with rain soon after. Making sure your model comes with adequate all weather protection is important to keep of the rain, wind and sun.
Some pushchairs can be pretty heavy so you need to make sure you can lift it on your own. You may need to lift and collapse it to fit it in the boot of a car or a cupboard for storage. Make sure you choose a model that is not too heavy to handle.
